Generate product datasheet PDFs from Google Sheets with ShipPDF and Google Drive

When something happens in a connected app, it manages files using Google Drive, Google Sheets.

What it does

# 🚢 ShipPDF — Product datasheets on autopilot Turn a product catalog in Google Sheets into branded product datasheets / spec sheets — one PDF per product, rendered by ShipPDF from your own reusable template. ### How it works 1. A new product row in Google Sheets triggers the workflow. 2. ShipPDF renders a branded datasheet (spec table, description, optional product photo) from your template. The workflow polls until it's ready — so it runs on any n8n, Cloud or self-hosted, with no public callback URL. 3. The finished PDF is archived to Google Drive. ### Setup steps - Add a ShipPDF API credential (HTTP Bearer Auth, your key with documents:create + documents:read) and select it on both Post Datasheet to ShipPDF and Poll ShipPDF for Result. - In Post Datasheet to ShipPDF, set your template_id and map the data fields to your datasheet template's data schema (product name, model, SKU, description, specifications). - Connect Google Sheets and Google Drive credentials and point the trigger at your product sheet. ### Notes - Credits: one ShipPDF credit per datasheet. The Idempotency-Key header makes retries safe (a replay returns the original document, no double charge). - Product photo (optional): if your template's image node is bound to data, map an image_url column — ShipPDF image nodes accept { type: url }. Otherwise keep the photo in the template and drop the field. - Failures: invalid data is rejected at the generate step with HTTP 422 before any credit; render/billing failures arrive as status: failed on the poll. - Write back to your sheet (optional): add a Google Sheets *Update row* node after *Save Datasheet to Drive* to write the Drive link into a Datasheet URL column, so each product row carries a shareable datasheet. ### Customization Swap the trigger (Airtable, a PIM, a form), add the product photo, or change the specification mapping to fit your catalog.
